The Company

One of the leading agencies within the Out of Home media sector are seeking a Strategic Direct Sales Manager. Our client prides themselves in understanding consumer behaviour, lifestyles and environments and uses this information to help their clients to target audiences with a wide variety of, often creative and innovative, Out of Home advertising. They have a culture of collaboration with communications agencies, clients and media owners offering creativity in digital, experiential, mobile and special build campaigns.

The Role of Strategic Direct Sales Manager - specialist agency (Out Of Home)

Out of Home is one of the most exciting sectors of media as innovations in technology allow members of the public to interact directly with street furniture (bus shelters etc) both physically and via a mobile device. Furthermore, as these innovations slowly come to market, and clients find more creative and effective way to engage with people (informed by real time data) the Out-of-Home sector is set explode in growth.

As Strategic Direct Sales Manager you will be performing a completely unique role within the business.  This is not a traditional sales role but a "thinking person's sales role". Selling is only a small part of the role. You will be targeting mid-large corporations (as well as up-and-coming fast growth businesses) but before you approach each client you will spend a great deal of time researching the business, competitive landscape, their likely commercial objectives etc and then pulling on the vast internal resources for data and insight (and design capabilities where necessary).....all with the purpose of ensuring that your first contact with the client is as compelling as it can possibly be.

Clients will either be:

  • Big spenders in advertising but not Out-of-Home Clients on the roster of a competitive specialist OOH agency Fast-growth business who are likely to need OOH to expedite their growth Specific independent agencies whose clients could be benefiting from OOH campaigns.

You will of course be given plenty of support and direction. 

Location wise - this individual can be based out of the London OR Manchester offices.

Requirements for this role of Strategic Direct Sales Manager (Out-of-Home Agency)

  • 3+ years media sales experience
  • Strategic minded with strong research skills
  • Intelligent, confident and articulate
  • Strong face to face negotiation and sales skills
  • Stable career history
