The Company

A highly respected and extremely well-known brand, membership organisation and b2b/b2c publisher. They offer autonomy, strong benefits and high commission earning potential and they are looking for a Sales Manager / Business Development Manager.

Sales Manager / Business Development Manager position

You will join an experienced group of multiplatform media sales professionals, selling advertising and sponsorship across a portfolio spanning print, digital and a variety of events. The audience that you are selling access to via this portfolio are both senior level business directors, as well as being high net worth individuals. Therefore, usually, you will be selling to businesses who wish to target them as company directors (in a b2b capacity) as well as selling commercial opportunities to luxury consumer brands (watches, cars etc) who wish to target them because they are high net worth individuals.

Key advertiser sectors include technology, finance, automotive, telecoms and since they have a letter-split approach to client bases you will be selling to all of the above businesses (including some very big names). Aside from selling advertising (rich media, native content) you will be selling event sponsorship across awards, conferences, bespoke roundtables, large AGM's. Deal sizes can range from a simple £2k deal up to a £250k+ complex multiplatform bespoke solution.

You will have a client direct focus and will be selling both to existing clients as well as new businesses. Many of these businesses are quite "corporate" and therefore you will be used to engaging with similar types of businesses.

Requirements for this Sales Manager / Business Development Manager

  • 1 - 8 years multiplatform media sales experience (length of experience expected from the candidate depends on the salary expectations)
  • Confident, client facing and intelligent
  • Outgoing with a strong new business drive and mature mentality
  • Thrives in an autonomous role
  • Strong questioning mindset
  • The ability to sell a wide portfolio of opportunities
  • Experience of selling to senior level decision makers
