The Company

A large, highly respected events and insights business operating across a variety of b2b markets is looking for a Portfolio Director for their production division. They have a friendly, collaborative and entrepreneurial culture with a highly regarded team culture.

The Role of Portfolio Director (production division)

The primary purpose of your role will be to manage the quality and output of a team of producers across a portfolio of events. This includes at least 3 P&L entities, each with significant revenue of between £700,000 - £1,000,000+

Responsibilities

  • Drive the overall profitability of P&L(s) within the business. You’ll have multiple P+L responsibility to both generate new launches, as well as grow established repeat events
  • Set strategic direction on both portfolio and product level through established assets and identifying launch opportunities within your area with robust validation and analysis
  • Accountable for delivering the yearly commercial result and budgeted product load
  • Robust seed idea generation and validation within the company's process framework to create more product opportunities
  • Strengthen existing portfolio, or organically create your own, to maximise market penetration
  • Management, training and development of a junior producer

Requirements for this Portfolio Director position

  • 5+ years B2B conference production experience, with proven production skills across a variety of conferences, including launch and repeat events
  • Experience of managing and developing a team of conference producers across a portfolio of conferences
  • Experience managing multiple portfolios and launching new series through organic product creation
  • Experience of strategic portfolio development and new event idea validation with commercial viability
  • A natural entrepreneur who is interested in combining research and advanced business skills to have true ownership of your conference products’ financials and commercial trajectory
  • Able to work from London offices 2 days a week
