The Company

A leading media and business intelligence company with many market leading brands across all platforms and a culture of training and development, seek a Commercial Manager to take the lead on their business intelligence platform which serves the PR/Comms departments of finance sector clients.

The Role of Commercial Manager

As Commercial Manager you will be helping to manage a more junior member of staff, but will primarily be leading the sales effort and strategy of this leading business intelligence platform. You will be engaging (50% face to face) with Head of PR and Communications at leading financial businesses (eg Investec, Black Rock etc) and selling them (or renewing) corporate subscriptions.

This digital business intelligence tool is an essential resource for any financial journalist or editor offering news, contacts, case studies and expert insight. Access is sold on a subscriptions basis to media professionals and PR’s working in the financial sector.

You will also be selling bespoke events as well as sponsorship opportunities across a large awards ceremony (£500k+ revenue per year) and various seminars and a really varied role with potential for growth.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of a small department / big brand and run with it, proving their worth to a large business which is prepared to reward them with opportunity and commission.

The Requirements for this Commercial Manager position

  • 3+ years subscriptions experience (minimum)
  • Event sponsorship experience is desirable
  • Hungry to succeed and take ownership of a brand / portfolio
  • Maturity to come up with new ideas for additional revenue (with clients) in addition to driving current revenues
  • Confident, articulate, outgoing, lively and motivated. 
  • Stable career path
  • Experience of selling to the financial sector would be a bonus
